On-Air Radio Personality

An overview of radio experience, voice work and on camera bits.

Since this is a straightforward website, I'll give you a simple bio.  No, I do not have a childhood story where I pretended to be a DJ with a cassette recorder when I was 10.  I didn't have any idea I wanted to get into broadcasting until college.

I grew up in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  It's not a branch of IU, but it was a state school, and they had a college radio station. My first job in radio was as a call screener for radio talk shows on the weekend and board op (AM News Stations with their back timing for News and Live Rush Limbaugh stressed me out at 21).

My first full-time job was doing overnight shifts in Johnstown PA, or what I like to call a mini Pittsburgh. I was SO happy to be on the air finally! I worked for an oldies station, which eventually flipped to country music (like most did in the early 90's - thanks to Garth Brooks). I moved to J-town full time to do nights, and after two years moved back to Pittsburgh to work for Pittsburgh's Country Y108. In 1999, Baltimore Maryland called and gave me a better life. I was hired to do mid-days at 93.1 WPOC with my noon request show aptly named Delmont's Diner, and the rest is history. I love living and working in Charm City and working for WPOC.

As for personal interests: I'm a movie and TV show fanatic (cable snob), I love exercising, annual trips to Vegas with my buddies, and doing everything else with my amazing wife.

I like to think that being at only three radio stations in a little over 20 years, speaks volumes. During that time, I have interviewed Reba, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood and countless more.

It's incredible the one genre of music I did not want to get into when I was in college, ended up being the best thing that has ever happened to me personally and professionally. Life sure is funny.
